The 49th and final E-Jet delivery of the first batch for KLM Cityhopper took place on April 26, 2018. The aircraft had additional stickers on the starboard side only; these were celebrating King's Day -which takes place on April 27 in the Netherlands- as the King is a certified KLM co-pilot. The decals were applied before delivery at Sao José dos Campos but were really short-lived.

The theme had to include a Dutch touch or be full of holiday inspiration. The winner was the "Destinations" design by Jana. 2016-
In this special livery the well-known KLM blue is combined with the Netherlands' national colour orange. The transition between the two colours features aspects of the Dutch flag, emphasising the roots and pride of the carrier. The introduction of the special aircraft was partly prompted by a social media post KLM published on King’s Day 2015. At the time, KLM’s followers were presented with a picture of an orange aircraft, along with the question: “Should we colour orange next year on King’s Day?". A year later the aircraft had become a reality. The aircraft is being used for commercial puroposes and on special occasions like the return of Dutch athletes after the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
An updated design was rolled out with the repaint of the aircraft in November 2023.
